「カラやカフスと同じ事さ。汚れたのを用ひる位なら、一層始から色の着いたものを使ふが好い。白ければ純白でなくつちや」

translation

"It's the same thing as collars and cufflinks. If you're going to use dirty ones, it's better to use colored ones from the beginning. If it's white, it's not pure white."
