translation
"I soon fell into a peaceful sleep." But suddenly I was awakened by a voice calling my name. Looking up, the fusuma between them was about two feet wide, and K's black shadow stood there. Thus, the light was still shining in his room as it was in the evening. The world had suddenly changed, and I was dazed, staring at the scene, unable to speak for even the slightest bit.
