Kokoro, by Natsume Soseki (paragraph #143)

translation

The house where K was born also lived there. However, I don't know if I had the strength to send my second son to Tokyo for training. I also have the convenience of being able to attend training, so I don't know if the consultation for the adopted son has been finalized or not. Kaku went to a doctor's house to be adopted. It was when we were still in junior high school. I still remember being surprised at the sudden change in K's surname when the teacher called the list of students in the classroom.
