私と伯父の間に他の親戚のものが這入りました。その親戚のものも私は丸で信用してゐませんでした。信用しないばかりでなく、寧ろ敵視してゐました。私は伯父が私を欺むいたと覺ると共に、他のものも必ず自分を欺くに違ないと思ひ詰めました。父があれ丈賞め拔いてゐた伯父ですら斯うだから、他のものはといふのが私の論理でした。

translation

"Another relative got in between me and my uncle." I didn't trust those relatives either. Not only did I not trust him, but I even viewed him as an enemy. I felt that my uncle had deceived me, and I was convinced that others would deceive me as well. Even my uncle, whom my father admired so much, was like that, so my logic was to say no to anything else.
