私の腹の中には始終先刻の事が引つ懸つてゐた。肴の骨が咽喉に刺さつた時の樣に、私は苦しんだ。打ち明けて見やうかと考へたり、止した方が好からうかと思ひ直したりする動搖が、妙に私の樣子をそは/\させた。

translation

My stomach was always stuck with what happened the day before. I was tormented like when the bones of the dish got stuck in my throat. The trembling that made me think about confessing to him, or whether it would be better if I stopped, made me feel strange.
