私はKが其時何か云ひはしなかつたかと奥さんに聞きました。奥さんは別段何にも云はないと答へました。然し私は進んでもつと細かい事を尋ねずにはゐられませんでした。奥さんは固より何も隱す譯がありません。大した話もないがと云ひながら、一々Kの樣子を語つて聞かせて呉れました。

translation

I asked Okusan if K had said anything at the time. Okusan replied that she had nothing to say. But I couldn't help but ask more details. Okusan has nothing to hide. While saying that it wasn't much to talk about, I was able to tell K's story one by one.
