其晩私は先生と一所に麥酒を飮んだ。先生は元來酒量に乏しい人であつた。ある程度迄飮んで、それで醉へなければ、醉ふ迄飮んで見るといふ冒險の出來ない人であつた。

translation

That night, I had a drink with Sensei in one place. Sensei had always been a man of limited drinking. He was a person who could not dare to drink until he was drunk if he hadn't drunk to a certain extent.
