Kokoro, by Natsume Soseki (paragraph #1370)

translation

After reading up to that point, for the first time I was able to clearly understand why this long story was written. From the beginning, I believed that Sensei would not write to me about my food and clothing. But how did a teacher who hated writing a pen end up writing about that incident for so long and showing it to me? Why can't Sensei wait for me to come to Tokyo?
