ある時私は先生の宅で酒を飮まされた。其時奧さんが出て來て傍で酌をして呉れた。先生はいつもより愉快さうに見えた。奧さんに「御前も一つ御上り」と云つて、自分の呑み干した盃を差した。奧さんは「私は‥‥」と辭退しかけた後、迷惑さうにそれを受取つた。奧さんは綺麗な眉を寄せて、私の半分ばかり注いで上げた盃を、唇の先へ持つて行つた。奧さんと先生の間に下のやうな會話が始まつた。
translation
One day, I was forced to drink alcohol at the teacher's house. At that time, Okusan came out and served me a cup of sake. The teacher seemed more cheerful than usual. He said to his wife, ``Gozen also has one,'' and gave him the cup he had drunk. Oku-san said, "I..." Oku-san raised her pretty eyebrows and held the cup, which was about half full of mine, to the tip of her lips. The following conversation began between Oku-san and the teacher.
