父が變な黄色いものを嘔いた時、私はかつて先生と奧さんから聞かされた危險を思ひ出した。「あゝして長く寐てゐるんだから胃も惡くなる筈だね」と云つた母の顏を見て、何も知らない其人の前に涙ぐんだ。

translation

When my father vomited a strange yellow thing, I remembered the danger my teacher and wife had once told me. Seeing my mother's face say, ``You've been sleeping for a long time, so your stomach must be sick, aren't you?''
